About The Art<\/h3>\n

Margeaux Walter uses photography and video as a means of perceiving and interpreting a world so inundated with images. Her work addresses the role of photography in the creation of the self-image, and is centered on the growing frailty of the individual identity with the evolution of technological accessibility, influence of consumer culture, and the constant absorption of commercial images. Using staged environments, studio lighting, and saturated color, Walter references familiar visual cues of advertising that are burned into our collective unconscious to create a sense of anxiety through imagery in which identity is progressively in flux.<\/p>\n
