ARTIST STATEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Facades<\/em> is a photographic exploration that reaches beyond the character of a structure as established by its designer\u2019s original intentions. My intent is to reveal each subject\u2019s personality as defined by its surroundings; its reaction to weather and sunlight; its modern-day role as a \u2018canvas\u2019 for street artists, or a billboard shouting the brand of its tenant.<\/p>\n

To evoke a sense of nostalgia, Facades<\/em> challenges viewers to reflect on the passage of time and the inevitable changes that shape our surroundings. From historic landmarks to humble storefronts, each surface serves as a visual narrative of human ingenuity and cultural evolution.<\/p>\n

More than a series of static images, this collection is a celebration of visual poetry that emerges when we pause to appreciate the artistry and resilience of exteriors that often define a community.<\/p>\n

ARTIST BIO:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A native of Mount Kisco, New York, Mr. Hahn grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, attending Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he worked with rhythm and blues bands both as a trumpet player and arranger. In the early 1980s he traveled extensively with his first professional camera, honing his photographic skills taking publicity shots and portraits of the bands and musicians he met.<\/p>\n

Later, as founder of the public relations\/marketing firm, Keynote Media Group, photography became an essential component of the business.<\/p>\n

His work has been chosen for The Butler Museum of American Art\u2019s Area Artist Annual exhibition on two occasions. Today, Mr. Hahn remains active as a marketing consultant, corporate film producer, and freelance photographer.<\/p>\n
