Artist Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lisa Frederick utilizes her camera as an extension of her creativity, capturing images nearly every day. When her camera is not at hand, her cell phone serves as a reliable tool for composing photographs. Her interests span a wide spectrum, forming a rich tapestry of subjects that reveal beauty in everything from the wonders of nature to the relics of yesteryears. She is especially fascinated by the architecture and built environments of the past, serving as a strong advocate for preserving and documenting these structures throughout every stage of their existence.<\/p>\n

Recently, against the backdrop of a polarized nation and encroachments on individual rights, her photography has evolved to embody a striking juxtaposition of spirituality and democracy. Beyond straightforward documentation, Lisa often reimagines her photographs as composites, layering imagery to construct new visual narratives imbued with deeper and more complex meaning.<\/p>\n

Her goal is for each composition to be not only visually engaging and technically sound but also to narrate a story and invite reflection. For her, storytelling through photography is a powerful means of conveying emotion, sparking dialogue, and\u2014at its best\u2014inspiring change.<\/p>\n

Artist Bio<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lisa brings over 37 years of dedicated service in Art Education and holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Art Education from Youngstown State University. Throughout her career, she has created art across multiple disciplines, but in retirement she has been able to focus her attention on photography, exhibiting her work regionally, nationally, and internationally.<\/p>\n

Her photographs have been included in numerous juried art and photography exhibitions, reflecting both her technical skill and her thoughtful perspective as an artist. In addition to her personal practice, Lisa remains deeply engaged in artistic, cultural, philanthropic, educational, and athletic organizations, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to community enrichment.<\/p>\n
