Crow Drawing

Quick crow drawing before bed.   This is the rough draft for a pretty color one later on.  LOTS of ideas in my head right now.  Trying to get a few of them out so I can sleep.

Purple & Blue Flower

Ok, I know I said I was tired of flowers but I bought this baby today and it was just too awesome not to take pictures of.  So, just enjoy it.

The female photo shoot is tomorrow so I shall be posting pictures other than flowers & butterflies very soon.

The Female Photo Shoot

I have finally reached the point where I am bored with taking photos of flowers, butterflies and nature.  I still think nature is awesome, don’t get me wrong.  But, after thousands of pictures of flowers and butterflies, I am craving something different.  I have wanted to do a series of photos of women for a very long time – not really sure why I never tried to make it happen before now.  But, it is ON!

This coming Sunday, a handful of my girlfriends have agreed to model for me (free of charge).  I am going to use the house we are rehabbing as our shooting location.  It is gutted to the studs right now and I think it has potential.  I am so very excited!  All my friends are so damn cute (I hope I can do them justice with my pictures).  The results shall be posted as soon as I am done editing them.  Might even use them to apply for a show at The Chapel gallery downtown…

Brahmin Moth

I started this drawing on my india ink background.  It’s a Brahmin Moth.  I’m liking it so far so I thought I would post progress.

New Camera!

I got a new camera last week.  It is a Canon 50D which is just the upgraded version of my old 30D.  I must say… I am totally in love with this camera!  The photos are just wonderful!   I took this one over the weekend in St. Charles.  Great colors, perfect light balance.  The camera is fast and easy to use.  A bit heavier than my old one but totally worth the arm ach at the end of a days shooting with it.  There is a part of me that just can’t believe it is mine.  It is such a superb camera and it’s all mine!   I am actually excited to shoot another wedding with it.  Will post more wonderful pictures soon.

Seeing Red

Painted this a couple days ago.  Was going to do a layer of purple and black over the top and scrap some of the paint off with a putty knife so the red showed through but I really like this as it is and am thinking of just doing an image transfer on it.  Going to let it set for a little bit and think about it before I go one way or the other.

About This Site

We found a new company to host my site and things are running much better.  I apologize to anyone who visited the site when it was acting up (running slow, putting images in the wrong albums).  It seems to be acting the way it should now (hooray).  Because it is acting normal, I have added lots of new stuff!  New photos under Botanical Garden, Butterflies, Weddings and an entire new album of my Iowa Farm Photos.  I had these on my old site but never got them transferred onto the updated one because of technical difficulties.   There are also a few more paintings under “Random Paintings”, nothing new just ones I never got around to putting up.

So, take a look around, enjoy and leave some feedback if you get time.  Thanks!

Completed 3 Panels

This is how the 3 panels turned out for my cousin. Sorry for the low quality photo, I took it really quick then went to drop them off, but you get the point. =o)
