I will be joining my IL twin, Rebecca again for the Art & Wine Sunday at the Westview Wine Cellar next Sunday, August 29th from Noon-6:00. Stop by for some great wine and awesome art if you can! All of us artists will be working on a project while we are there so it’s a great opportunity to see the processes we use and ask questions. Hope to see you there!

This is how the butterflies turned out. I’m having a great time with these caulk image transfers! Think I’m going to start using my photos next. Need to buy some more boards first though.
More fun stuff to come!

This shall be my next image transfer after I finish my cousins paintings. I laid this out in Photoshop using a modified butterfly font (putting those Graphic Design classes to good use). Man I love making cool stuff with butterflies! =o)
I posted this and looked at it again and I think I need to change the angle of that butterfly the second from the top, then it will be ready for an image transfer.
The base for my cousins paintings. This is (3) 18″x24″ panels. I’m rather happy with it. Can’t wait for it to dry so I can do some image transfers!
Just wanted to let my millions of fans know that I will be at the Westview Wine Cellar this Sunday, August 1st from Noon to 6:00 as part of their Art & Wine Sunday. They are in Collinsville so it is a bit of a drive (1803 Ramada Blvd, Suite B101 – lower level, Collinsville, IL 62234).
I will have photos and paintings for sale and I will also be working on a project while I’m there. Not sure what I’m going to take to work on yet. Probably just some butterflies to color (something easy to transport).
So, take a trip out to get some wine and say hi! =o)

Was this! I rather like it. It may be hanging in my house soon.
What’s under all that?! This is an image transfer using caulk. Won’t be ready for 24 hours. Sucks that these take so long but they turn out pretty darn nice. I have to leave my studio for a bit right after I do this step because I try to pull up the edges before it’s ready (because I get excited to see how it’s doing) and end up screwing it up.
Will post the finished product later.
I was trying to clean my studio over the weekend to make room to work on the 3 panels for my cousin and this canvas was peaking out from behind some crap I had in front of it. I was head over heels in love with this background when I did it (over a year ago) but, in the grand tradition of Becca’s art, I was too afraid to go further. I FINALLY put the branch on this baby Sunday. I REALLY like it! I’m going to do one maybe two more branches then call it finished. Thoughts… Feelings… Please feel free to leave comments.

My first attempt at doing an image transfer using caulk. Used way too much caulk and got this weird line around the image. But on the up side, the image turned out perfect! Very happy with that part of it. Going to do some more testing on another panel. No more smelly Xylol for me (maybe this will save a few of my precious brain cells).

One of my cousins has commissioned me to do a set of paintings for him. His only request was that they have purple & black in them. Yeah, force me to do paintings with purple & black. =o)
I was just going to do standard gallery wrapped canvases but I bought this wood panel today and I’m really rather liking it. This is not finished yet. It is probably going to get some designs laid over it. Not that I don’t like it right now but I have lots of paintings that I start like this and there is supposed to be much more to them but I get too scared that I will screw them up, so I just stop. I shall not stop on this one! There will be more to come.
